The article analyses the role of Political Social Media Influencers (PSMI) in voter mobilisation for the 2024 European elections. Based on a qualitative content analysis of Instagram posts by relevant PSMI, the study shows that PSMI particularly seek to distance themselves from the far-right. They use platform-specific tools and adapt their mobilisation strategy to Instagram’s “lifestyle” platform logic. While PSMI clearly position themselves against radical-right populist parties, direct interaction with centrist parties is generally absent. Explicit party endorsements do not occur; instead, PSMI present themselves as independent mediators of democratic values. Through their reach and the strategic interplay of personal insights and produced content, PSMI establish themselves as political actors and actively shape the election campaign.

摘要
