In Breaking the Sequence, editors Ellen FriedmanFriedman, Ellen and Miriam FuchsFuchs, Miriam introduced an ironically constructed history of women’s experimental fiction. Their collection of essays, covering three generations of women writers from Dorothy RichardsonRichardson, Dorothy to Kathy AckerAcker, Kathy, revealed a “feminine perspective” that disrupted the patriarchal structures of tradition, discourse, and narrative, despite this “rich tradition” in women’s fiction configuring a narrative.
