How does slowing down look like in an infant-toddler space? By taking this provocation from Clark’s (2023) slow knowledge and pedagogies, this chapter focuses on temporal aspects of infant-toddler’s wellbeing. ‘Being with’ entails entanglement between vibrant things, materials, rhythms, and the environment in an early childhood centre in Australia. A post-human approach, which draws attention to being-with the flow of time and space, is used to explore what it means for infant-toddler wellbeing and pedagogy. Visual methodologies allowed for the visibility of material-discursive practices to expand time and the potentialities for infant-toddler wellbeing. An encounter during morning tea provides a provocation for thinking-with time and elaborates on the temporal aspects of contemplation. Infant and toddler’s wellbeing involves ‘being-with’ through intra-actions with both human and non-human entities and a deep contemplation of place. Slowing down as a wellbeing supports infant and toddlers in being in the here and now.
