Posttraumatic Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in the Upper Extremity
摘要
Upper extremity injuries can result in disabilities that impede daily living activities. Advances in surgical treatments and rehabilitation practices have led to decreased disability in recent years. A comprehensive rehabilitation program is essential postinjury to restore the patient to optimal function. Rehabilitation goals include promoting healing, restoring range of motion and strength, controlling edema, reducing pain, and preventing complications such as adhesion, contracture, and atrophy.
