Extremity traumas, due to their impact on multiple organ systems, require complex management in the intensive care setting. The primary trauma-related complications include severe bleeding, rhabdomyolysis, acute kidney injury, and venous thromboembolism. In intensive care management, maintaining hemodynamic stability, controlling pain, administering fluid therapy, implementing blood transfusion protocols, and preventing complications through a multidisciplinary approach are of utmost importance. Rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury are serious complications frequently encountered after trauma. Early diagnosis and fluid resuscitation play a critical role in preventing these complications. Additionally, pharmacological and mechanical thromboprophylaxis should be effectively planned to reduce the risk of venous thrombosis. Personalized treatment approaches and continuous monitoring by a multidisciplinary team are key to improving patient outcomes in cases of extremity trauma.
