The National Highway 27 is a part of India’s second longest national highway, the East-West Corridor. National Highway 627 is a spur road of NH27. These two major highways, particularly in the Dima Hasao and Cachar districts of Assam, experience frequent landslides. To address this issue, a susceptibility map of potential landslides along these highways has been analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Geographical Information System (GIS). Nine factors contributing to landslides, including slope, aspect, elevation, geology, annual rainfall, flow direction, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), distance from road, and Land Use Land Cover (LULC), were selected for the susceptibility assessment. The susceptibility map was classified into five categories and validated using the Area Under the Curve (AUC) metric. This chapter aimed to identify the landslide-prone areas along the highways, providing valuable information for mitigating landslide risks. The current chapter will provide useful information for enhanced land-use plans and disaster risk management in the area.
