In this book chapter, we look at the dangers of microplastics and nanoplastics and suggest ways to manage plastic waste to stop them from spreading further. We gather information from different studies to understand where these particles come from, how they spread in nature, and the harm they do to animals and humans. Marine life is at risk because of microplastics, which can be smaller than 5 mm. These particles are ingested or get tangled up in marine creatures, causing harm. Nanoplastics are even tinier, at the nanometer scale, and scientists worry they can be harmful to living organisms, affecting their health in the long term. To fight this crisis, we explore different methods of plastic waste management, including reducing plastic use, recycling, and making new rules. We also stress the need for new technologies to detect and remove microplastics and nanoplastics. It is crucial that countries work together to solve this problem. We also share success stories from different places that have acted against plastic waste and microplastics. These examples show how waste management efforts can make a positive difference to our environment and health. In conclusion, microplastics and nanoplastics are a big concern, and we need to act now. By managing plastic waste well and working together globally, we can protect our planet and ensure a healthier future for everyone.
