This study examines the nature of maritime insecurity, disruption in the traffic flow of goods and commodities of the Nigerian Ports Authority, and its impact on revenue generation given that the Nigerian Ports Authority controls various Ports. The chapter further examines the issue from the viewpoint of management lapses and security challenges of the Federal government. It determines whether the level of infrastructure set down for the operations of the parts is justifiable and adequate. To this extent, the chapter examines the problems and challenges faced by private and public actors in managing the Nigerian Ports Authority with a view to proffering solutions and updating the international standards of the organization. The work reviewed the nature, structure, and characteristics of policy initiation and implementation of port reform and concessions effects on the operational performance of the maritime industry. Further, it revisited the attendant cargo delivery inputs in the Nigerian Ports Authority vis-a-vis its impact on international waters. Finally, the work attempted to analyze the extent of generating funds from these ports and assess how this has been undermined or compromised due to corrupt practices and maladministration and its consequences on the polity.
