Living Consciousness: Introduction
摘要
Consciousness is presented as a structure consisting of living consciousness (the immediate private mental experience that is subject to the laws of magic) and objectified consciousness (perceptions, external behaviour and symbolic structures that conform to the laws of nature, logic, and morality). The laws of living consciousness, such as positive and negative participation, sympathy, contagion, and mind over matter, are described and contrasted to the laws of objectified consciousness. It is argued that living consciousness is innate, though it can be influenced by objectified consciousness. The goals of the book are spelled out, such as revealing the connection of living consciousness with such disputable concepts as natural psychological functions and artificial intelligence, analysing living consciousness as the source of magical art and literary fantasy, and describing the work of living consciousness in real-life situations, with the aim of developing psychological methods for understanding and activating the work of living consciousness.
