Architectural Innovation and Smart Technology for Sustainable Tourism in Jordan: Review and Future Directions

The objective of the present study is to acquire an in-depth and thorough knowledge of the pertinent literature related to the implementation and use of cutting-edge architectural innovation and intelligent technology solutions for sustainable tourism in Jordan. To show sustainability in planning rules and architectural design for sustainable resorts, it is crucial to integrate nature, culture, and the local community in environmental, cultural, social, and economic equilibrium. Hence, the objective of this study is to thoroughly examine the necessity of identifying, through scientific research and practical implementation, the interdependent connection between smart technologies, architectural technological innovation, and sustainable tourism as an additional development and design quality value to be included into tourist resorts. This will be carried out considering the specific cultural and environmental features of the Jordanian population. The use of intelligent technology solutions is crucial in sustainable architecture. This correlation enhances economic advantages as well as well-being and standard of living. Furthermore, it enhances the effectiveness and excellence of structures. The use of technology in the construction of contemporary structures will serve as a compelling factor for financial benefactors and stimulate the growth of tourism. The objectives of smart building technology and sustainable development are to attain a harmonious integration of design and nature, to optimize energy conservation, operational efficiency, and living comfort in a highly competitive market characterized by rising energy, material, and labor prices.
