The complex nexus of agriculture, pesticide pollution, and climate change presents interconnected challenges to environmental sustainability, human health, and global food security. While pesticides play a crucial role in food security and crop yield, their widespread use has led to pollution and health concerns, promoting exploration of alternative pest management strategies to mitigate ecological and human impacts. Addressing the imperative need for advanced agricultural practices to meet projected food demand in the coming years, this chapter scrutinizes the escalating threat of climate change, pesticide use, and risks associated to food security. Fluctuating rainfall patterns, rising temperatures, and high greenhouse gases (GHGs) emission pose severe risk to global food production, leading to a surge in chronically undernourished populations. Moreover, climate change intensifies the impact of pesticide pollution through altered weather patterns, increased pest pressures, and ecosystem shifts, further escalating agricultural challenges. Drawing from empirical literature, the comprehensive and detrimental effects of synthetic pesticides across various dimensions are underscored, encompassing environmental pollution, air quality, GHGs, and biodiversity decline, notably affecting insects. The pesticide bioaccumulation in food chains jeopardizes mammals, non-target animals, and ecosystem balance. Moreover, the persistence of certain pesticide residues in air, water, and soil underscores their potential risks, especially carcinogenic effects. Given the escalating climate-related challenges impacting global crop productivity and food security, this chapter advocates for the necessity of adaptive plans, integrated sustainable approaches, precision farming technologies, policy interventions, and regulatory framework to promote eco-friendly pest management strategies, aimed at improving agricultural systems. Furthermore, it offers a comprehensive insight into the multifaceted challenges facing modern agriculture, highlighting the persistent risks to ecosystems and human health. Interdisciplinary research, collaboration, and transformative actions are imperative to promote resilient agricultural systems, protect environmental integrity, and ensure food security amid evolving global challenges.

摘要
