This chapter explores how queer Italian males understood and lived their sexualities and how the forces of discipline beyond sexology (often assisted by it) policed them. My focus is idiosyncratic, juggling a discussion of currently untranslated material with a concern to represent varying discourses, including a brief return to Chitty’s analysis. But for a few mentions, sex tourism is reserved for the next chapter, to be considered in light of tourism in general. I also briefly mention the uniquely gendered figure of the femminiello.
