摘要

The theory of Hamiltonian (or conservative) systems in the plane is introduced. The differential equations are used to model dynamical systems in which there is no energy loss. Hamiltonian systems are also used extensively when bifurcating limit cycles in the plane (see Chaps. 18 and 19).
