Artificial Intelligence and the Influence of AI Filters on Creative Processes in TikTok: Methodological Challenges
摘要
This study analyzes how artificial intelligence (AI) filters in TikTok transform creative practices related to narrative construction and identity building in the context of the platform's participatory culture. The perspective of a mixed methodology with different phases is adopted: First, data scraping, visualization, and qualitative analysis using Nvivo's artificial intelligence for initial coding are implemented through thematic analysis. 1,857 videos tagged with #AIfilter and 5,000 comments on the video with the highest number of them were studied. The results show that using AI in TikTok facilitates creativity by allowing users to reimagine their identities and experiment with aesthetic norms. It also generates critical discussions about authenticity, body image, and algorithmic bias. In particular, comments analyzed using NVivo reveal how users negotiate these technologies around issues of self-expression, emotional impact, and tensions between reality and fiction. The discussion considers how TikTok is a space where collective narratives and active participation are intertwined with algorithmic mediation. By addressing these dynamics, the research provides insight into how the TikTok social network redefines concepts of creativity, identity, and forms of participation.
