Various properties of the Monster and its 196 884-dimensional Conway–Griess– Norton algebra were axiomatised under the name of Majorana algebra. Such an algebra is a real vector space V, endowed with a positive-definite inner product (•, •) and a non-associative algebra product • which associate with each other. The space V contains a generating set A of idempotents of length one, known as Majorana axes.
