Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Developing Countries: Impact, Challenges, Successes, and Future Directions
摘要
Infrastructure is the largest growing industry in today’s world. Huge competition in design and architecture has led this industry to grow even faster than before. With the increasing demand the methods of carrying out the construction process have also been improved with the latest technological system called Building information modeling (BIM) the construction process has become even more smother and more productive when compared to the traditional construction methods. The BIM is the latest systematic process that enables running the construction process from start to end incorporating the visualization, collaboration, and coordination on one platform making it assessable to each and every model author of the construction process. Saving costs and time are added benefits of the BIM along with the easiness of construction. Though BIM has numerous benefits and has shown its efficiency in developed countries it’s still lagging behind in developing countries. The study aims to find the status of BIM in developing countries and the barriers the BIM is facing in developing countries.
