Mobility is a crucial aspect of everyday life and facilitates social participation. Nevertheless, for groups of people enduring psychological burdens such as clinically significant or daily anxiety, being mobile can pose a significant obstacle and lead to exclusion from social activities. In the process of developing infrastructure, mobility offers and information-and-communication technologies, such as apps, route planners and assistance systems, little attention is typically given to psychologically accessible mobility. The aim of the ‘Mobile Without Fear’ project is to address this deficiency and tackle the psychological barriers inherent in current urban public transportation to suit the unique needs of individuals suffering from anxiety disorders. In this manner, suggestions for offering information, communication assistance and enhanced mobility services for individuals experiencing psychological stress are devised, integrated into existing infrastructure and considered for future planning.
