Small bowel cancers are an infrequently diagnosed malignancy. They represent less than 5% of overall tumors within the gastrointestinal tract. Patients may describe only vague symptoms such as abdominal pain and nausea, or these tumors can be incidentally found on imaging obtained for other reason. However, these heterogenous tumors have varying workups based on cell-line origins. Surgical therapy varies based on tumor type but generally include local resection with en bloc lymphadenectomy. Adjuvant therapies vary widely based on cell-specific targets. This chapter aims to review several of these tumor types and the various clinical presentations, diagnosis, and staging workup as well as surgical and adjuvant therapies.
