Competence Development of Logistics and Transport Staff as Part of an Organisation’s Digital Maturity
摘要
The study explores the development of digital competencies among logistics and transport professionals within the framework of organizational digital maturity. Digital transformation, encompassing digitization and digitalization, has profoundly reshaped logistics processes, with Industry 4.0 and the COVID-19 pandemic accelerating technological advancements. Essential competencies include technical expertise, effective communication, decision-making, digital technology proficiency, and sustainability awareness. The research methodology integrates a multi-stage approach, combining a systematic literature review with empirical surveys conducted among 47 enterprises. Data were collected using Likert-scale assessments to evaluate the importance and current status of identified competencies. Insights from collaborative industry projects further enriched the analysis, offering a robust framework for assessing professional skills. Results highlight a strong focus on digital skills, particularly in IT tools and data analysis, while also revealing challenges such as resistance to change, limited critical thinking, and a lack of integration between digital transformation efforts and organizational culture. The findings underscore the need for structured training programs and organizational strategies that promote adaptability and skill development. The study provides practical frameworks for evaluating digital maturity and advancing workforce capabilities in logistics, contributing to resilience and efficiency in an increasingly complex and digitized global supply chain.
