Subterranean environments not only play a crucial role in global ecological balances but also present adaptive challenges. And yet, they are seldom present in public discourse. Traditional foresight, closely linked to specific future perspectives, has revealed its limitations in the current situation. In the face of this deadlock, incorporating elements of the imaginary and the sensory seems pertinent. This chapter analyzes a corpus of science fiction works to outline various uses, functions, and forms of spatial organizations, as well as governance models and relationships with the surface in connection with subterranean environments. A discussion is opened on the potential of instrumentalizing fictional narratives and their capacity to improve anticipatory abilities among the diverse social groups involved in governance systems.

摘要
