This research addresses the gap in understanding the full benefits of automated greenhouses, especially given rising global resource shortage and the increasing labor demands in farming. This study compares traditional manual greenhouses with fully automated smart greenhouses, emphasizing safety, resource efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and crop yield improvements. Key findings show that automated greenhouses increase health and safety conditions from 56 to 90%, reduce water waste from 30–40% to 5–10%, and significantly lower operational costs. This paper highlights why automated greenhouses are essential now, examining real data and case studies to understand the change or impact of automation on modern greenhouses. By identifying these advantages, this study contributes to the growing body of research recommending smart, resource-efficient farming solutions. Finally, we’ll look at some of the challenges farmers face when making the switch to smart systems and consider the broader implications these technological advancements may hold for the future of agriculture.
