The Impact of Power and Influence on Organizational Performance and Job Satisfaction in the Construction Sector in the Sultanate of Oman

This research paper dealt with the concept of power and influence in leadership, and focused on how they affect organizational performance and job satisfaction in organizations operating in the construction sector in the Sultanate of Oman and aimed to explore the different types of power and their sources such as official power, news power, charismatic power, reward power, coercive power and how to use it in the work environment. Want to understand these elements enables leaders to improve their performance and enhance their influence within organizations. The qualitative approach to data collection was used by conducting interviews for 200 leaders and employees in a variety of construction industries to measure the impact of power and influence on organizational performance and job satisfaction, and through data analysis, the results showed that leaders with personal influence could motivate their followers. Further, resulting in improved performance. The data also revealed that official power, while important, does not promote job satisfaction as much as personal influence. It follows that effective leadership requires a balance between formal power and personal influence, which is advisable, as well as further research to explore the impact of these concepts in diverse contexts.
