The research aims to establish a sustainable drone logistics system that is aligned with Oman’s strategic goals. The study analyses the existing literature on the applications of drone technology and its implications in logistics. The findings highlight the potential applications of drone technology in Oman to optimize last-mile logistics, including emergency services during disaster management, facilitating the delivery of medical supplies, and improving the efficiency of fresh food and grocery deliveries in the retail sector. Additionally, the study highlighted several sustainability benefits that can be achieved through drone applications for last-mile logistics in Oman, such as reduction in carbon emissions, enhanced energy efficiency, decreased road traffic and congestion, and cost efficiency. This study offers valuable insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders seeking to revolutionize last-mile delivery while promoting sustainable logistics practices.
