Turkey and the rest of the globe have seen a marked rise in cancer diagnoses in recent years. A condition known to have a profound impact on a person’s life expectancy, cancer is often associated with the concept of “death.” This disease also involves various anxiety and stress factors. In addition to medical treatment methods applied during the treatment process, scientific studies emphasize the importance of social and psychological supports to reduce the stress and anxiety caused by the disease and to support the healing process. Positive Psychotherapy (PP) stands out as an approach that provides significant psychological support by providing a comprehensive frame of reference for patients. It has been used effectively to alleviate the psychological strain caused by cancer and to contribute positively to medical treatment by providing patients with psychological resilience and flexibility. Positive psychotherapy is defined as an organized, comparatively brief psychotherapy technique built on a psychodynamic basis, with a humanistic perspective on individuals, and offers transcultural and intercultural perspectives. This approach focuses on conflict resolution and contributes to the healing process based on individual internal resources.
