It is vital to consider that various beneficial health outcomes, such as subjective well-being, positive mental health, and positive physical health, have distinctly been related to gratitude. The literature revealed that the implementations of gratitude interventions have been developed among diverse populations, such as children and adolescents, students, school teachers, psychotherapy clients, workers, women with breast cancer, and suicidal inpatients globally. However, this chapter underpins gratitude’s effectiveness, focusing on positive psychology interventions and enhancing students’ mental health in higher education. It presents the conceptualisation of gratitude and what it is measured for. It then discusses the existing literature focusing on gratitude-focused positive psychology interventions. Theories related to gratitude, such as morality as cooperation, moral sentiment, and cognitive emotion, were included in this chapter. It further explores some of their benefits in enhancing students’ mental health. It finally presents their implications for clinicians and practitioners working with students in higher education.

摘要
