Research evidence shows that positive psychology has made inroads into disability research. However, there’s scanty literature concerning its application in emancipatory participatory disability research. This semi-systematic literature review looks at how well the elements of well-being could be applied in emancipatory disability research to support people with disabilities to meaningfully participate in research, either as researchers or active and valued respondents. This approach is not only expected to contribute to increased research output and impact but also flourishing and optimal human functioning, which remains the ultimate goal of all individuals, including people with disabilities.

摘要

Research evidence shows that positive psychology has made inroads into disability research. However, there’s scanty literature concerning its application in emancipatory participatory disability research. This semi-systematic literature review looks at how well the elements of well-being could be applied in emancipatory disability research to support people with disabilities to meaningfully participate in research, either as researchers or active and valued respondents. This approach is not only expected to contribute to increased research output and impact but also flourishing and optimal human functioning, which remains the ultimate goal of all individuals, including people with disabilities.
