Recognizing—and Reframing—Secondary and Tertiary Science Education Trends in Canada
摘要
The chapters in this book illustrate some of the recent innovations in secondary and tertiary science education and research projects across Canada. These diverse contributions expand on established foundations of (a) science education research methods and topics and (b) curriculum and instruction in general science, earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics in junior secondary, senior secondary, and tertiary levels. Contributing authors provide their findings and related insights related to teacher education, curriculum change, pedagogical issues, learner characteristics, assessment, media resources, and informal and place-based learning across a range of specific content topics. Chapter topics are compared to international research interests as well as to Canadian topics, themes, and trends in order to recognize and reframe how Canada’s science education research can be positioned in global and national contexts.
