摘要

Advancements in neuroscience are impacting politics and governmental policies. There is an escalating interest in harnessing neuroscientific insights to understand and enhance citizen behaviour, especially through the exploration of phenomena such as neuroplasticity and the significance of unreflective decision-making. Likewise, it demonstrates the tendency to promote the optimization of individual behaviours through this knowledge. The study accentuates the burgeoning academic interest in areas such as education and international relations. This chaptere pinpoints five novel areas for the formulation of soft paternalism policies informed by brain science research: (i) public information communication policies; (ii) international relations; (iii) microeconomic policies; (iv) environmental policies; and (v) public health promotion and mental health protection policies. Additionally, it proposes future research trajectories to further their advancement. The results are discussed in relation to the deployment of the identified policies, concurrently revealing new societal issues where their application could prove efficacious.
