Global challenges such as climate change, water scarcity and increasing urbanisation will put increasing pressure on access to water. Although agriculture is the primary consumer of drinking water, the domestic sector also plays an important role, especially in urban areas. In households, strategies based on circular economy principles to change consumer behaviour must be implemented to reduce water consumption. Behavioural economics can provide tools to help change behaviour in favor of water saving. This chapter discusses how behavioural economics can support adopting circular economy practices in the domestic sector to save water by analyzing different practical cases.
