The primary aim of this chapter is to explore urban life, methods, and artificial intelligence (AI) through a review of the research and practice literature. A conceptual framework for urban life, methods, and AI is formulated, guiding an exploration of challenges and opportunities surfaced through the literature review. Employing an exploratory methodological approach, focus is placed on the categories of attunement, interdisciplinarity, and noticing in relation to the challenges and opportunities of smart urbanism. This chapter concludes with the identification and discussion of insights and future directions along with possible limitations.
