Ultrasound-Guided Carpal Tunnel Release: The Retrograde Technique
摘要
There are several methods to perform carpal tunnel release, including open carpal tunnel release, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, and ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release, the last offering the potential for reduced recovery times and complications, while monitoring neurovascular bundles. Many studies reported significant improvements in patient outcomes, with some noting these as early as the first week post-procedure. We describe our ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release (USCTR) personal technique using a retrograde fashion with a hook device. Clinical studies of our technique show effectiveness and safety of USCTR in the management of carpal tunnel syndrome, evidenced by significant improvements in paresthesias, and strength, alongside high patient satisfaction rates.
