Unlike X-ray imaging, at with ultrasound there is no ionizing exposure. Ultrasound can be used for diagnosis and control of distal radius fracture reduction and osteosynthesis. The operating technique remains the same whether it is an osteosynthesis by plate, screw, or pin.
