A performing bassbass player since 1972, Stout has been a prolific producer of African-American roots music, including blues, gospelgospel, and jazzjazz, with the creation of labels such as Pee Wee Records (1984), Dialtone RecordsDialtone Records (1999) and Dynaflow Records (2014). He has served as an international representative, distributor and publisher for several companies (Justice Records, New West, Antone’s Records, Malaco Records…), and he has been a panelist at music conventions, as well as a producer and director of the televisiontelevision show Songwriters across Texas (2012–2013). Thus, Stout has been active in the mediatization and global expansion of blues, earning tremendous respect and admiration both within the local and international blues scenes.
