Tomography is the science of studying the properties of a solid body by dividing the body into thin slices and recording the characteristics of these slices. Once the characteristics of these individual slices are studied, it is then possible to generate a detailed picture of the complete body, synthesizing the individual sliceSlice pictures using a computer. It is like cutting a loaf of bread into toasts and by observing the quality or nature of individual toast to conclude about the bread loaf. Technique of computed tomography, its advantages, etc., are discussed in this chapter.
