The measurement of the reactions of the pp. chain has greatly improved the study of the survival probability of the electron neutrino, that is, the probability of this neutrino not transforming into the other two “siblings.” Borexino has also studied geo-neutrinos, neutrinos originating from within the Earth, which provide information about the presence of radioactive nuclides in the mantle.
