In this chapter, we first provide a comprehensive overview of thermoelectric effects, followed by strategies for optimizing transport properties and elucidating their underlying mechanisms. We then present an in-depth discussion of recent advances in near-room-temperature thermoelectric materials and devices, aiming to inspire further research toward the development of next-generation commercial modules with enhanced performance across a wide range of applications.
