During a Corona infection, about 75% of patients temporarily or even permanently lose their sense of smell. They become anosmic. They can no longer enjoy food because, with the loss of smell, taste is also lost. They do not perceive the scent of flowers, any season of the year or their favorite perfume. What they took for granted has suddenly disappeared. And, as is often the case, one only truly feels the loss of something once it is gone. In a recent study, American researchers found that there are at least 139 diseases associated with a disturbance of the sense of smell.
