In recent years, we at the Ruhr University in Bochum and other laboratories worldwide have collected many scientific data that prove: In all tumors studied so far, the number and pattern of olfactory receptors compared to healthy tissue is significantly changed. A lot of such olfactory receptors were found in the tissue of prostate cancer tumors, in liver, lung, bladder, and colon cancer, as well as in leukemia cells. If these receptors are activated by a certain fragrance, it can have many biological effects on the cell. The cells can be induced to divide less, move or even die off earlier and go into programmed cell death. Cancer cells that die faster—a glimmer of hope for patients? At the very least, it represents a new innovative therapy approach.

摘要
