This chapter introduces the history for studying triboelectricity (contact-electrification) and its development in the last few centuries. Some recent advances are briefly reviewed, such as the tribovoltaic effect, the charge transfer at liquid–solid interfaces, the Wang’s two-step model about the formation of the electric double layer, and the contact-electro-catalysis.

摘要

This chapter introduces the history for studying triboelectricity (contact-electrification) and its development in the last few centuries.
