This chapter explores the complex challenges of attaining peace, justice, and effective governance in Gaza, as outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16). It highlights the pivotal role of SDG 16 in promoting stability and addressing the severe humanitarian crisis caused by the recent unprecedented assault on Gaza. The chapter explores the unique struggles faced by Gazans, emphasizing the critical need for accessible justice systems and accountable governance as foundations for peacebuilding. Key themes include Israel’s persistent violations of international law, systemic violence, apartheid policies, and actions disproportionately harming children in Gaza. By advocating for the enforcement of international legal frameworks, dismantling apartheid systems, protecting vulnerable populations, and fostering inclusive governance, the work provides recommendations to address humanitarian crises, restore justice, and rebuild resilient institutions essential for sustainable peace in the region.
