Improving Energy Efficiency in Agricultural Operations Through the Use of Sustainable Practices

Gradual reduction of the domestic agroindustry complex’s support on imported technology, machineries, and equipment is a priority on food policy, with the goal of ensuring the food security of the India. It is a common practice to utilize machines and aggregates designed for a single operation to prepare fields for planting crops. However, this approach can result in energy costs being increased, soil compaction, emergence, and development of erosion processes being accelerated, and the area being treated over and over again. Better technology and an optimized complex of equipment that can plough, crush soil blocks, mulch topsoil, and seed as a solution to this problem. Energy from fossil fuels is now integral to agricultural systems in industrialised nations, whether used directly on farms or to make tractors and fertiliser. Energy utilization and efficiency vary widely in agricultural operations. Calculations must be based on realistic agricultural system models and account for agriculture’s multiple uses. As population and prosperity increase competition for Earth’s scarce water resources, agriculture is under pressure to enhance food production water efficiency. The complexity with many local variations, requires a complete conceptual framework of the underlying physical and biological processes to analyse the situation, evaluate efficiency, plan and implement improvements. The review presents a sustainable practice for Energy Efficiency in Agricultural operations.
