Analysis of Short-Lived Radioactive Isotopes in Seawater
摘要
The short-lived U-Th-series (234Th, 210Po, 210Pb, 223Ra, 224Ra, 226Ra, 228Ra), cosmogenic (7Be) and anthropogenic (239,240Pu, 90Sr, 137Cs, 129I) radionuclides in seawater have been widely used as tracers in identifying and quantifying biogeochemical processes in marine system. In this chapter, the methodologies for the collection, preconcentration, and analysis of these radionuclides are summarized. Details on the method of calibration and decay-ingrowth corrections in obtaining reliable data are given. Detection limit of radionuclides determined by different methods are given. A set of given flow charts will aid the researchers in finding a suitable analytical technique.
