The scope of retrofitting is becoming very significant in the UAE, especially due to the goals set by the country to achieve net zero by 2050. Aligned with this, the study aimed to conduct a case study of a villa in the UAE and explore retrofitting measures to evaluate potential energy and water savings, as well as cost savings for the user. The methodology used in this paper involves site investigation to analyse the current situation of the villas, exploring various technologies to be added to the community, and finally the calculation of the cost factors. To achieve this, several software tools such as IESVE, Dialux, and HAP were utilized, and conclusions were drawn based on the data derived from these tools. In conclusion, the study aims to demonstrate the substantial benefits of retrofitting villas in the UAE by highlighting the significant reductions in energy and water consumption, leading to considerable cost savings. These findings not only support the UAE’s ambitious sustainability goals but also provide a practical roadmap for other communities to follow, fostering a broader adoption of sustainable practices across the region.
