摘要

Deconstructing, dismantling, closes what was founded. In the cycle of human institutions, the end of life shall enter into a controlled process. It is not a question of destroying or letting it fall into ruin, but finding the path to a new legacy, after a period of mourning. For several centuries, numerous “objects” (architectures, vessels, hospitals, libraries, etc.) have undergone closing-down or remodelling, and no specific term has designated this action. Why have these processes, through the term dismantling, now acquired a new dimension? Between obsolescence, dismantling and new modalities of memory, let’s follow in this chapter the destiny of three technological objects.
