Navigating the Maze of Organizational Transformation
摘要
This chapter discusses how executive coaches can help organizations navigate change. Once initiated, albeit often with resistance, organizational change tends to be sequential in nature: from creating a shared mindset; changing behavior; building competencies, practices, attitudes; and eventually to improving business performance. However, the kind of cultural transformation needed to create high-performance organizations is difficult because it necessitates changes at both micro and macro levels. Creating and sustaining a more inclusive corporate culture requires a high degree of openness, trust, and adaptability on the part of all the people in an organization. Executive group coaching can be a catalyst in the creation of a new cultural environment and can have a powerful impact in creating better leaders and more effective organizations. Transformation will always be a difficult process, and like most things in life, there will be many ups and downs. Those experiencing these major change processes may feel frightened, dejected, and discouraged. There will be moments when we believe that we have climbed the greatest mountains, but others when we seem to have fallen off the cliffs of despair. Still, what needs to be kept in mind is that transformation is the law of life.
