Rural Urban Dialogue as Experience: Urban Hiking Trails and Architecture and Landscape Architecture Hybrid Typologies
摘要
This chapter examines the typology of urban hiking paths as a way of engendering a key experiential aspect of rural-urban dialogue delivering the arguably closely linked Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) of the United Nations, SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, and SDG 3 “Good Health”, SDG 13 “Climate Action”, and SDG 15 “Life on Land”. The research portrayed in this chapter shows that urban hiking paths can engender and be integrated with constructions that fuse architecture and landscape architecture into new green urban prototypes. This is done with respect to human-nature interaction, mitigation of adverse urban climate effects, delivery of urban ecosystem services and promotion of human health and well-being in urban environments.
