This chapter is an introduction to the volume “Conversation Analysis and Language Teacher Education—Intervention Studies”. We first present an overview of conversation analytic intervention studies and then review CA studies within the field of language teacher education. We finish the chapter by introducing each study with reference to their contexts, methodologies, and the nature of the interventions. Both in this introduction and the whole volume, we aim at reconceptualizing the traditional notions of both “intervention” and “change” in conversation analytic terms, especially within the fields of teacher education and professional development.
