This article takes an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence from an ethical perspective by combining a bibliometric analysis and a qualitative analysis of the most relevant studies between 2019 and 2024. The bibliometric analysis revealed a significant growth in scientific output related to AI ethics, reflecting a growing interest in addressing concerns associated with the use of this technology. Among the most discussed topics, the transparency of algorithms, algorithmic bias, data privacy, and accountability in automated decision making stood out. The study underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to develop robust ethical frameworks to guide the development and application of artificial intelligence. Interaction between disciplines such as technology, law, philosophy and social sciences was identified as crucial in addressing the complexity of ethical challenges. Despite progress, important challenges remain, such as the need for global and equitable regulations that balance technological innovation with the protection of human rights. The article concludes that efforts to build an ethical AI must continue and evolve as technology advances and integrates into different areas of social and economic life.
