The Sensitized Patient Awaiting Heart Transplantation
摘要
Pre-transplant sensitization is associated with an increased waiting time to transplant, increased wait-list mortality, and increased risk of rejection after transplant. In this chapter, we will focus on the role of antibodies in transplant patients, particularly donor-specific antibodies against human leukocyte antigens, and their clinical implications. In addition, we discuss risk factors for sensitization, antibody monitoring and detection methods, and desensitization strategies.
