Recommendations are an important part of our online shopping experience these days, and there are various techniques dealing with recommender systems. Swarm intelligence based algorithms have been actively used in generating optimal recommendations. In this paper, the authors introduce the newest member of swarm intelligence algorithms viz. grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA) and study its performance in making recommendations.
